Julie Churchill is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Division of Nursing, and Lead for Community Nursing Development. Julie works across a range of community nursing programmes and the Non-medical Prescribing programme.
Julie is passionate about Community Nursing and recognises the central role it plays in service delivery of healthcare in community settings.
In January 2017 Julie was honoured and privileged to be one of twenty candidates accepted onto the Queens Nurse Award 9-month development programme 鈥搕he first for 50 years and received my award in December 2017. The title is awarded to 鈥榗linical leaders who can demonstrate their impact as expert practitioners鈥�.
Prior to Julie鈥檚 current post at QMU, she fulfilled a role as a Team Manager for Community Nursing within a Health and Social Care Partnership.鈥� Julie has worked within a variety of Community settings for 30 years, firstly as a Practice Nurse, before landing a much sought-after role as a Community Nurse. Julie worked as a District Nurse for over 25 years within England and Scotland, providing care in areas from those of severe deprivation to those with more prosperity in both city and rural geographies.
Julie is the Elected Senate representative on the University Court, appointed on 8 March 2021.
